Deborah “Debbie” Blanton, director of the DeKalb County Courts Multi-Door Courthouse Dispute Resolution Center (ADR Center), spoke at the Family Law Section’s monthly breakfast in August. Ms. Blanton is a familiar face around the county. She has served in various capacities in both the public and the private sector, including DeKalb Juvenile Court and the Ninth District Alternative Dispute Resolution Office, since the mid-1980s. In 2003, she returned to the DeKalb County ADR Center and has served as the director since January 2008.
Several DeKalb Bar events are planned for September that give you a special reason to get up in the morning, an opportunity to wind down in the evening and take a break on a Friday afternoon. A Family Law Section breakfast meeting is Sept. 3, and a general membership breakfast meeting is Sept. 10. Later in the month on Sept. 24 is an after-work-hours celebration where new board members will be introduced and new DeKalb Bar initiatives will be announced. Sept. 25 brings an opportunity to be among the first to see a new portrait of Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Carol Hunstein.
