From the Editor: Some Mental Gymnastics for the New Year

“They” say such mental puzzles sharpen your mental acuity and forestall senility for years to come – hope you enjoy!

1. A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms. The first is full of raging fires. The second is full of assassins with loaded guns. The third is full of lions that haven’t eaten in three years. Which room is safest for him?

2. A woman shoots her husband. Then she holds him under water for more than five minutes. Finally, she hangs him. But five minutes later they both go out together and enjoy a wonderful dinner together. How can this be?

3. What is black when you buy it, red when you use it, and gray when you throw it away?

4. Can you name three consecutive days without using the words Wednesday, Friday, or Sunday?

This CLE is also free of any CLE charges for those attorneys who participate, and they feed you, too!

FROM THE EDITOR: Exploring the Advantages of the New Blog Format

By Jody Peskin

Many thanks to all of you for the support you have shown the DeKalb Bar News Blog. It has been a time of exciting change. First, for those of you who seem to notice that the left-side columns don’t match up with the right-side columns, causing strange gaps, please note that use of Internet Explorer 8, FireFox 3.5 or Google Chrome will improve the blog format.
