DeKalb County Recorders Court

The DeKalb County Recorders Court is currently accepting letters of interest and resumes for several Judge Pro-Hac positions. An interested applicant must:

  1. Have at least four years’ experience in criminal trial work as either a defense attorney, former public defender, former solicitor or former assistant district attorney;
  2. Be a member in good standing of the Georgia Bar;
  3. Not represent any clients in Recorders Court after appointment;
  4. Be certified initially and then annually as required by the Municipal Court Judges Council.

We are looking for commitments to fill morning and afternoon court sessions starting June 1. Morning sessions begin at 9 a.m., afternoon sessions begin at 2 p.m.

CLE: Till Debt Do Us Part: Critical Financial Errors in Divorce

A Seminar for Legal Professionals, Approved for 2.0 CLE Credits

“Critical Financial Errors in Divorce” was created by the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts to highlight several of the more complex financial aspects of divorce, and aspects that the current economic climate have made even more challenging. This presentation addresses some commonly overlooked financial errors that can occur in drafting the settlement agreement, and provides some actionable methods of handling financial issues that have become even more complicated in the current economic environment, including the treatment of retirement and pension plans, how to address illiquid assets and real estate, changes in compensation structures, and the continued importance of cost basis.
