Chief Judge Withers to Speak at April Luncheon

Chief Judge Nelly Withers of the DeKalb County Recorders Court will discuss the changes at the court in the context of the problems that were so publicly spotlighted over the last two years. Judge Withers was highlighted in the February DeKalb Bar News when she was appointed and sworn in as the new chief judge of the Recorders Court.

Judge Withers was born in Bolivia, S.A., and came to Georgia as a child. She received her bachelor of arts degree in journalism and earned her J.D. at Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University.

In addition to her other accomplishments and activities, Judge Withers is a member of the Supreme Court Committee on Access and Fairness and is president-elect of the Municipal Court Judges Council. She has been involved in the High School Mock Trial competition in the past as a coach and has been the Diversity Day chair and speaker for Leadership DeKalb for several years. Judge Withers looks forward to speaking to us at the upcoming bar luncheon, as there are some exciting changes coming down the pike for Recorders Court.
